Presentation Synopsis
Emmetropisation in the Human Visual System, Biometry, Position of Wear
This talk will describe the process of ocular growth in the human eye from the perspective of the dispensing optician and outline strategies for providing optimal ophthalmic lens fittings in that framework.
Core concepts covered in this presentation will be:
· Emmetropisation processes and the aetiology of refractive errors
· Optically imposed blur and the impact on growth and refractive outcomes
· The impact of optical and biometric interactions
· A case study in lens interactions in the developing eye
· Tips and techniques for optimising patient outcomes
· Integrating into the patient care regime
