Presentation Synopsis

Fiji, Beyond the Practice Walls: Seeing Past the Plastic

Join Nathan as he delves into the often-overlooked realities of Fiji, a country grappling with poverty, limited healthcare access, and a lack of basic necessities. While many envision Fiji as a tropical paradise, the truth is that many Fijians struggle to access essential vision care services.

This talk highlights the pivotal role that optical dispensers can play in addressing these challenges. By extending their skills and knowledge beyond their practice walls, they can make a significant impact on the lives of Fijians. From providing eye exams and dispensing glasses to supporting broader community initiatives, optical dispensers have the power to improve not only healthcare but also education, livelihoods, and overall quality of life.

The presentation will inspire you to look beyond the idyllic portrayal of Fiji and consider how you can contribute to making a difference. By volunteering, partnering with organisations, or raising awareness, you can help bring hope and tangible change to those in need.
